Illini Community Health Care Foundation has several scholarships that
may be awarded on an annual basis.
They include the following:
Health Occupations Scholarship
Purpose
As an ongoing Foundation initiative beginning the Spring 2006, ICHCF will award 2 (two) scholarships annually to Pike County graduating seniors who will be pursuing a degree in a health-related profession. Scholarship grants will be in the amount of $2500.00 each. Recipients of the Illini Community Health Care Foundation’s Health Occupations Scholarship Fund will be determined by the standing ICHCF Board of Directors. Recipients will receive half of the Scholarship funds at the beginning of the academic year, with the remaining funds distributed at the mid point of the academic year.
Qualifications
The following qualifications and information is necessary for scholarship consideration:
- Notification of acceptance into an actual health professions course of study, including: nursing,
pre-medical, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy, public health, mental health, health education, health administration, and others as deemed appropriate.
- Possess exceptional leadership ability and a serious commitment to community service.
- A graduating senior or currently attending a public high school within Pike County, Illinois.
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation from a high school teacher, health professional, or employer.
- High school grade transcripts.
- Submission of the completed Scholarship application and all required attachments within the prescribed application parameters.
Guidelines
A maximum of $2500 will be provided to be used for tuition, books, materials, room and board at an accredited educational institution in the United States.
- Must plan to be enrolled as a full-time student and maintain a cumulative B average throughout
the term of the Scholarship.
- Must submit grade transcripts at the end of each semester or quarter, as appropriate.
If other grants, scholarships, or loans have been utilized to cover allowable costs, ICHCF Scholarship monies must be returned to the Foundation.

If recipient fails to complete the health professions program or does not fulfill the above stated agreements, the amount of the scholarship funds used must be repaid to ICHCF within 30 days of the termination of the agreement. Violation of the terms of the Scholarship will result in their immediate termination from the Scholarship program.
